Meredith Hartley received an A.B. degree in biophysical chemistry from Dartmouth College in 2005. She then pursued graduate studies in chemical biology with Professor Barbara Imperiali at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In her thesis research, she developed a native lipid bilayer platform for studying polyprenyl-dependent microbial glycosylation pathways. Since finishing her PhD in 2011, Meredith has been a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Thomas Scanlan at Oregon Health & Science University. Her research is focused on elucidating the molecular neuroendocrine mechanisms involved in human neurodegenerative diseases including X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy and multiple sclerosis. She is currently a National Multiple Sclerosis Society Postdoctoral Fellow.
