Build shredded muscle like an athlete without equipment… http://athleanx.com/x/complete-program-here Oblique exercises are the overlooked portion of a complete core workout that can really help your abs to look chiseled. Because of the orientation of the internal and external obliques, these muscles when developed, will help to frame out your six pack and give your waistline a tapered appearance. In this video, I show you a home obliques exercise that you can do without equipment to hit both your internal and external obliques at once. The external obliques have a heavy responsibility in rotation. They are called opposite side rotators because when you rotate your trunk to the right, the left external obliques are responsible for this. When you rotate your trunk to the left, your right obliques will kick in to do the job. The internal obliques operate exactly the opposite way, as they control same side motions. Therefore, when you rotate to the right your right internal obliques will contract to assist the motion and vice versa. When the internal and external obliques contract at the same time on one side you will get trunk lateral flexion. This one home oblique exercise incorporates each of these functions at one time to produce a killer bodyweight option for you. You can do 10-15 reps on each side per set, and include them into your weekly training, to be sure that you develop your entire core more completely. Home obliques exercises are versatile and important to include in your ab building arsenal. You want to be sure that you don’t always have to rely on a hanging bar to get your twisting ab exercises done since you may not always have access to one. Having options that you can do on a floor without any other equipment is imperative if you want to have a go to oblique workout no matter where you are. To carve up your obliques of course, you are going to want to follow a smart nutrition plan. That said, that doesn’t mean that you have to deprive yourself or go on some crazy crash diet to do so. The ATHLEAN-X Factor Meal Plans (included in our ATHLEAN XERO workout program) are designed to get your results without having you lose your sanity. You can get these as well as a complete bodyweight only training program at http://athleanx.com and clicking on the icon for the xero workout.
