Alberta Health Services’ Edmonton Metro’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) simulated a crash scene to show students from two south Edmonton high schools, first-hand, the consequences of texting. With help from Edmonton Police Service and Edmonton Fire and Rescue Service, EMS staged a mock collision — simulating the injuries that can result when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle driven by a distracted driver — in the parking lot outside J. Percy Page and Holy Trinity high schools. The event took place May 27, 2013 in the parking lot shared by both schools.
