How to Barbell Curl for Bigger Biceps. Most people think that the best way to build biceps is with strict form. What is strict form anyway? Is it perfectly straightening the arm and then bringing the barbell as high as you can? Or is it any form that keeps the tension on the muscle to ensure optimal stimulation? You can see how if you’re a bodybuilder, stimulation must take first priority, not how the curl looks to your friends. Sure it’s harder to straighten the arm, but is it necessarily harder on the muscle, or is it harder because of a lost of the elastic energy in the golgi tendon and muscle spindle reflex, and does losing this elastic energy add stimulation to the muscle, or does it take it away?
