The aim of physical rehab following cardiac surgery is to build up children’s cardiovascular fitness and general strength so that they can return to their desired activities at home, school and in the community. HNEKidsRehab provides a holistic, client-centred service offering support from a Rehabilitation Doctor, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Art therapy and Music therapy. The team approach ensures that children and their families have the support they need to achieve their goals in all aspects of life. The children attend goal orientated exercise Sessions and their cardiac function is closely monitored throughout every session by a nurse.
