This is more commonly known as endurance, or stamina. There are two types of endurance; cardiovascular and muscular. This section is going to teach you the difference! Cardiovascular Endurance Cardiovascular endurance is all about the body’s ability to supply the muscles with oxygen. The greater your cardiovascular endurance, the more efficient and able your cardiovascular system is at providing the muscles with oxygen. The more efficient this system is, the slower your heart rate will be at both resting and exercising rates. Muscular Strength Muscular strength is very important in both sports and everyday life. Essentially, it means how strong the body’s muscles are and how much force they can apply. You can develop these muscles in sports activities and everyday life – for example, carrying heavy bags of shopping or weightlifting. If these muscles are stronger, then you are less likely to injure yourself due to greater bodily control. GCSE Physical Education (PE) Revision: http://www.revisionapp.co.uk/gcse-physical-education/
