We see Insulin at its lowest point and Glucagon at its highest point. These 2 hormones produced by the Pancreas play opposite roles. The role of insulin is to store energy we get from food in the form of Glycogen. But with Insulin being low at this point we’re no longer in storage mode. This is where Glucagon comes in. With Glucagon being at its highest point, it will tell the body to release it’s energy stores, Glycogen. When Glycogen hits rock bottom, this is where the magic of intermittent fasting happens. Your body now has to tap into fat stores for energy. To get the best weight loss results with intermittent fasting, continue to ride the fast past those 12 hours until you get to 16.
