Pediatric physiotherapy is an art by itself. In the hands of trained pediatric physiotherapists, the improvement of the child can be quite dramatic. Physiotherapy can be passive or active. Passive physiotherapy involves joint manipulation and mobilization done by the therapist themselves….whereas active physiotherapy means the guidance is given by the therapist with the patient doing the actual work. This video shows passive physiotherapy being done to the child with spastic cerebral palsy concentrating on the lower limbs. The whole idea is to ensure that all muscle groups and joints of the lower limbs are mobilized, stretched and manipulated so as to maximise the power and to minimise the spasticity (tightness). Parijma Neurodiagnostic & Rehabilitation Centers – Bengaluru and Mangaluru has been, and still is, a pioneer in the field of pediatric physiotherapy and neuro-rehabilitation. We folllow standard as well as our own custom designed equipment and therapy techniques, based on our 30 years of trusted experience to ensure maximum scope for improvement in children affected with cerebral palsy and other developmental disorders.
