Any medicine in pregnancy should not be taken without doctor’s advice.Be it antibiotics, be it sleeping pills all have an effect on the baby. Most of the medicines cross the placenta, reach the baby and they can have effects on the baby. Many of the pills that are taking in non pregnant state are not allowed in the pregnancy. For example voveran tablets which are taken for back pain can really harm the baby. Pregnant women having any kind of trouble or ache or infection should consult the doctor and should take prescribed medicine.Sleeping pills are not at all recommended because they cross the placenta and sedate the baby.So baby will become depressed which is not good for the baby..
