Dear Folks, Just to share the basic technique in blood sampling and matching CLSI guidelines in skin disinfection, tourniquet application time less than one minute, needle removal and safety device activation in one hand mode, digital pressure to prevent bleeding and bruises, tube ‘inversion’ for 8 times to ensure sample integrity and no red cell hang up on tube wall…. This client seems to be a little bit dehydrated when I did the vein assessment. Need slight needle adjustment when no flashback shown upon needle insertion. All can be done in less than 3 minute demonstration.
