The lungs suffer a lot with the effects of tuberculosis. Carlos Torres-Viera, Infectious Disease Physician with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, explains the bacteria enters and goes directly into the lungs. According to the doctor, the bacteria usually goes to the upper part of the lungs and then starts causing inflammation. He says sometimes this disease is so severe that it destroys portions of the lungs and a hole can develop in the lungs which can be full of fluid and bacterias.
