At Penn Medicine ENT, we’re not only going to treat your cancer, we’re going to repair the consequences that result from treating your cancer. Since head and neck cancers can occur in very visible areas on the body, it’s very important to us to reconstruct any defects that may occur during treatment. We think about reconstruction as a restoration of quality of life. We want our patients to be able to go out in public and feel like their normal selves. What makes Penn stand out more than other centers is the fact that we have 6 providers doing reconstruction. This multidisciplinary team we have includes oncologists, radiation doctors, and pathologists. At Penn, we’re always pushing the boundaries and thinking about problems in a more challenging way. We don’t feel like we’ve accomplished anything just by removing cancer and performing an average reconstruction. This, to us, is not a job well done. When a patient doesn’t even realize that they’ve actually undergone major head and neck cancer surgery–that’s when we know we’ve succeeded. #SkullBaseTumor #Tumor #EarNoseThroat #ENT #Reconstruction #CancerReconstruction #HeadAndNeckCancer #OralCancer #ThroatCancer #PennMedicine #otorhinolaryngology
