Is Vitamin B Complex Good or Bad For Diabetes Download Diabetes Management Book: http://bit.ly/2g0NDAH Hello, I’m Ty Mason from TheDiabetesCouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes. Today I’m going to answer the question, is vitamin B complex good for diabetes. But before we get into that, make sure you download my free diabetes management book which also includes a diabetes grocery shopping guide (foods to eat and avoid). Most vitamins, minerals, nutrients, etc we need we can get from foods. However, in our world of getting things now, many of the foods that house these items are slowly disappearing from the shelves. Because of this many are turning to supplements to do just that, supplement their diet with nutrition lost in the world of high processed foods. When it comes to Vitamin B, we discuss the word “complex.” This simply means something with every B vitamin in it. How many B vitamins are there? Well, there are 8. Each one has different ways in which they help the body. Some maintain healthy skin and muscle tone, others enhance your immune and nervous system functions, while still others promote cell growth and division. The eight B vitamins are B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12 – and they all have other names that you’re probably more familiar with. And please don’t ask me what happened to Vitamins B4, B8, B10 and B11 because I have no idea. All B’s are water-soluble vitamins. This means that your body can’t store them. B Vitamins need to be added daily because whatever the body doesn’t use, gets flushed out in your urine. Most people get these vitamins in the food they eat. If you have food restrictions, whether you don’t eat meat, dairy products, eggs, or whole grains for whatever reason, you may need to take supplements. There are specific B Vitamins that are beneficial to those with diabetes. B1 (thiamine) helps the body convert carbohydrates and fat into energy. In foods this is found in whole grains, mainly green veggis and livers. B2 (riboflavin) is required by the body for the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. This is found in many dairy products. B6 (Pyridoxine) aids in the protection of nerve cells. This is especially important to fight diabetic neuropathy. This is found in nuts, fish, salad greens and bananas. B12 (Cobalamin) is crucial to good blood health. This is mainly found in animal products. So is B complex good for diabetes? Yes it is. If you don’t eat a lot of meat or dairy, you especially need to supplement your diet with a good B complex. I hope this answered your question is vitamin B complex good or bad for diabetes. Don’t forget to get your diabetes management book. Let me know if you have any other diabetes related questions.
