Orlistat is a pancreatic lipase inhibitor. It acts by preventing the digestion of the lipid that is present in the food. So if there is excessive fat in your diet and that fat is not digested and the fat can pass out in the stool as a greasy stool and sometimes if you are taking an oily meal, or if the enzyme inhibitor is highly effective than you can get oily stool leakage. So these are the only two side effects that are present in patients who take orlistat.in the long run there can be deficiencies of Vitamin D and E. So we need to take precautions to replace these vitamins in addition to giving Orlistat to these patients.
