http://kbandstraining.com/how-to-improve-agility-with-glutes-exercises-softball-circuit-training-routines/ To perform the Softball Circuit Training athletes will need a set of Kbands Leg Resistance Bands, a coach or partner, and 3 Speed and Agility Cones. Athletes will attach the Kbands Leg Resistance Bands just above their knees and prepare for the first softball drill by placing the 3 cones 2-3 feet apart in a straight line. Athletes will first perform 20-25 seconds of the “Quick Switch” portion by lining up at the center cone in a squatted position. On a verbal cue given by the partner athletes will extend one of their legs and reach that foot to one of the outside cones. On each cue athletes will switch feet. The second portion of the circuit routine requires the removal of the center cone and moving the outside cones farther apart. Athletes will line up at one of the cones, stand on their outside foot, jump to the other cone, landing on their opposite, outside leg. Athletes will perform 10 jumps (5 on each leg). The next portion involves a similar exercise performed at two different speeds. Athletes will place two cones 10-15 yards apart and slowly perform a lateral glute walk down and back two times. After the glute walks have been completed athletes will move into the glute shuffle, in which they perform the same lateral movement, but at a higher pace. Athletes will perform 2-3 resisted rounds of the circuit before removing the Kbands Leg Resistance Bands and performing 1-2 unresisted sets of the circuit training. For more softball training drills and circuits go to KbandsTraining.com. Along with purchasing information for the Kbands Leg Resistance Bands, Speed and Agility Cones, and Speed Ladder athletes will find great training tips and drills to create a complete softball training program. Implementing abdominal, strength, power, speed, and conditioning exercises into a training circuit will allow athletes to continually challenge themselves, while improving their athletic skills.
