Hey everyone. So I am a 22 year old male dealing with early signs of MPB. A little background on myself. Both my father and grandfather started to lose their hair at an earlier age. My grandfather is pretty much completely bald, and my father (mid 50s) has a receding hairline and very thin hair. You can see most of his scalp if you put light directly on it. So there’s a very good chance I was given those same genes. I was about 17/18 when someone mentioned that I had a bald spot on my crown. It was small and I didn’t really think much of it. I would always notice hair in my sink, but I didn’t really pay attention to my hair until last year (21 y/o) and really started to notice that my hair on my crown was thinning. It’s really not that bad but I know it’s only a matter of time. I decided to get a buzz cut and see if my thinning would be less noticeable, BIG MISTAKE. I could definitely tell that the hair on the top of my head was a lot less dense than the sides and the back. I decided to take action and buy some Kirkland minoxidil. I was applying twice a day for about 3 months, but it got too time consuming (having to let my hair dry before I left the house) and decided to reduce my application to once every night. It’s been about 7 months total. Honestly I think twice a day was working but now I’m not too sure if once a day is doing anything. Whenever I run my fingers through my hair, and in the shower, I still have hair fall. I decided the best thing was to try finasteride. I’ve done plenty of research and might as well give it a shot. I got a prescription from an online site called Keeps.com. Pretty easy to use, if anyone wants any info about it just leave a comment. (I’m not affiliated with them) Anyways, here goes nothing! My hope is to atleast stop my thinning and hopefully thicken my hair. My regimen will be: – 1mg of finasteride daily – 1mL of liquid minoxidil once a day – Nizoral Shampoo every couple of days Please leave any suggestions or comments! Fingers crossed!
